American Institute of Indian Studies Fellowship Competition Now Open--Deadline 7/1/17

The American Institute of Indian Studies (AIIS)—a cooperative, non-profit organization of eighty-four American colleges and universities that supports the advancement of knowledge and understanding of India, its people, and culture—is now welcoming applications for its 2018-2019 fellowship program.  The deadline for submission is July 1, 2017.

Applications to conduct research in India may be made in the following categories: junior and senior research fellowships, senior scholarly/professional development fellowships, and senior performing and creative arts fellowships.  Applications and more information can be found at http://www.indiastudies.org/research-fellowship-programs/.

AIIS welcomes applicants from a wide variety of disciplines.  In addition to applicants in the humanities and social sciences, AIIS encourages applicants in fields such as development studies, natural resources management, public health, and regional planning.
