Professor Jim Shepard Wins 2016 Rea Award for the Short Story

Jim Shepard, the J. Leland Miller Professor of American History, Literature and Eloquence has won the 2016 Rea Award for the Short Story. The Rea Award is unique in that it is not given for a collection of stories or for a body of work, but rather for originality and influence on the genre.  This is the second consecutive year a member of the Williams English department has received the award. Last year, Andrea Barrett, senior lecturer in English, won the award.
